Krisztina Rozgonyi at roundtable on hate speech

fjum (Forum Journalimus und Medien Wien), Presseclub Concordia, the Representation of the European Commission in Austria and Paneuropean University (Bratislava) have organized the roundtable "How can online hate speech be stopped?".

Hosted at the House of the European Union in Vienna's city centre, this round table is scheduled to take place on February 27, from 2-5pm. Krisztina Rozgonyi is invited to talk about "Can regulation and legislation be an effective tool for countering online hate speech? European experiences".

Background: The proliferation of hate speech in mass media, online violence against journalists, and rapid distribution of fake news have raised concerns regarding the future of democracy. How can hate speech be contained without affecting the freedom of expression? Is legislation a solution? Which are the best newsroom practices?
