The EuroCivic Lab Project: Strengthening European Identity and Citizenship through SDGs, Social Activism and Living Labs Methodology in School Education

What is the EurocivicLab?

The EuroCivic Lab’s main objective is to improve teacher training in the field of European identity formation and to introduce innovative teaching methods that are interactive, practical, and easy to apply. The project aims to support teachers and school communities in strengthening a shared European identity, using the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a guiding framework. By developing targeted resources and tools, the project will equip educators with the skills to raise awareness of common European values and foster civic engagement and critical thinking among students. In this way, it addresses current global and European challenges through education that is rooted in shared principles, identity-building and future-oriented thinking.

The project will also introduce new educational practices, including the Living Lab methodology, which involves active participation and collaboration in the learning process. Through practical training and the use of participatory methods, the project encourages schools to become active spaces for democratic learning and social reflection. EuroCivic Lab is coordinated by Colegio Salesianos do Porto in Portugal and brings together partners from across Europe, all committed to promoting inclusive & value-driven education to secure a sustainable and inclusive future for Europe.
