Ayça Becerir, MA
Ayça Becerir is a Prae Doc Research Assistant at the Department of Communication, University of Vienna. She works on the GAMEHEARTS project under the supervision of Prof. Katharine Sarikakis. She has BA degrees in philosophy and psychology from Koç University, Turkey, and an MA in Gender Studies from CEU, Austria. Her research areas are media governance, identity representation in media, and the interplay between media, power, and ideology. Holding an interdisciplinary perspective, her research aims to unpack the social and political implications of different media apparatuses, including video games, visual arts, and movies. She is particularly interested in how these implications shape epistemic frameworks and affective habitus.
