MA Majlinda Aliu

Majlinda Aliu is a media and communication professional with a Master degree in financial journalism at City University London, as a Chevening scholar. She is a Ph.D. candidate at the Department of Communication, University of Vienna and a fellow researcher at the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence FREuDe. Her Ph.D. project analyses the impact of the crisis in media governance in Europe. It explores the extension of European media regulations in Austria, Kosovo, and Switzerland. Her project, is supervised by Univ.-Prof. Dr. Katharine Sarikakis. It is funded by the HERAS scholarship, implemented by OEAD. She is an award-winning journalist, with a demonstrated history of working in the media production industry. She has over 17 years of work experience at Kosovo Public Broadcaster-RTK, where she worked as a journalist, TV host and program editor. Through NGO sector, she implemented regional and international projects focused on migration with the support of EU funds and the Bosch Foundation. She also worked as a communication specialist at the IFC (part of the World Bank Group) in projects implemented in Kosovo.
